19 stykker i en hytte – 19 in one chalet

23.08.2018

Elsa og Hilde hadde vært sitt bur da de er «The Grumpy old ladies». Alvin fikk sitte bakerst.

– Finally came the day I have been waiting for. Ellen Kåsastul, Hege Marie and I were going to a chalet in Trysil. Hege Marie and I had 11 dogs with us. My car did not work so we had to use Hege Marie’s. Eva and Theo were placed in the same cage. Then there was Berit and Tutta in one. Elsa and Hilde had one cage each because they are «The Grumpy old ladies.» Alvin got to ride in the back. Maisie, Perle, Gudny, and Mango had to share a cage. 2.5 hours car drive was ahead of us. We used google maps and was sure to arrive at the right place. We thought at least that. The Lady on the Google maps told us to turn right and then left at the roundabout at Trysil city and we did as told. But Google maps did not agree with where we were supposed to end our car drive. We ended up at the taxi dispatch. The only place we could have stayed in down there was in a warehouse hall with a bunch of pallets. Hege Marie and I were starting to wonder what sort of a place Ellen had gotten us. Later on, Ellen told us that she had started to wonder the same.

– Three startled ladies did not understand this at all. Hege Marie and I started to get a little bit of panic when it started to get various smells from the cages behind us as something I seriously fail to describe. Fortunately, the smell disappeared again so that we were pretty sure that it was not someone who had to sit in something brown. Ellen found out that we were going to a gas station to get directions there after waiting for the landlord to send us a map. We were lucky at the gas station because the guys who worked there could describe where we should drive. We do drive back to the next roundabout and turn where it was a sign that said «Velkomssenteret». When we had driven far and further than far we had to stop in the middle of nowhere because now we could see the mountains.

– Now we found out that it was time to call the landlord again. Then there was a new problem our phones did not work where we were parked. We got a hold of the landlord in the end. Now we had to drive down to the first roundabout again. There it turned out that we were supposed to go left. The sign with «Velkomstsenteret» didn’t we see at all.

– We found the chalet and happier dogs no one could have as we did at that moment we got out of the car. We had parked the cars and ran behind the Charlet to put up a fence. It was easy, but there was a lot of holes that were under the veranda and next to the wall, it was not easy to keep dogs inside. It was decided that Hege Marie and Ellen were to drive to Trysil and buy more green compost bins so that we could do the bin bigger and then seal the holes.

– I was going look after the dogs meanwhile Ellen and Hege Marie were away. After retrieving the dogs and all the puppies several times I decided to keep them inside until Ellen and Hege Marie came back. Unfortunately didn’t Ellen and Hege Marie find a single place that sold such items we needed. This is because most of it was closed. They managed to get hold of some chicken wire. Luckily it worked. After we had eaten and the dogs were fed was time to rest a little.

– Now we were going out for a walk. All the dogs got their harness’ on before we wandered. I’m glad the dogs had their lights on since it already was dark outside.

–  When we turned to go back we counted the dogs and that was when I realized that we were missing Berit. I hoped she was in the chalet. When we came in, she stood on the floor. There she stood and had fastened her leash under a blanket. TNow she got a one by one walk together with me something she relished. She found even a post she could bark at. The man we met she did not care about at all.

– Fortunately, it turned out that it was fine with 16 dogs in the Charlet. Everyone was friends. Theo thought it was perfectly fine to let his tail be a bed for Tutta.

– Frøya, Kiwi and her puppies were put in a cage so that we could sleep safely without anything would be destroyed. Now could finally we three «old» ladies get into bed.

God natt! – Good night!
